The Crested Butte Creative District supports our local creative community by providing resources, opportunities, and education to professional and aspiring artists of all ages.

Crested Butte is a state-recognized creative district teeming with artistic spirit and creative industry. We believe that the presence of artists and creative entrepreneurs infuses our town with new energy and innovation, which in turn enhances the economic and civic capital of our community. To celebrate and strengthen our unique identity, we amplify and support local artists and creative organizations who contribute to the creative health of our community.

The Crested Butte Creative District was founded in 2017 as one of the first 20 Colorado Creative Districts. Initially housed under the Town of Crested Butte, the Creative District moved under the Center for the Arts in 2021. Since its inception, the Creative District has supported creative professionals, creative industry, and creative experiences in Crested Butte. How we do that changes over time depending on the current needs of our creative community.
